Elderly Pedestrian Dies After Cyclist Collision

In a tragic incident taking place in southern Dublin, a cyclist fatally injured a female pedestrian, who was in her seventies. The accident which occurred on the 4th of June, a Tuesday, led to the woman’s death five days later. Soon after being inflicted with severe injuries at Ranelagh Road in Dublin 6, around 11pm, she was rushed to St Vincent’s University Hospital. Her condition necessitated a subsequent transfer to Beaumont Hospital where her death was declared on the following Sunday. The male cyclist involved in the accident remained unharmed.

Investigations into the accident are being pursued by the Garda as they conducted a technical examination of the accident site. They have urged witnesses of the fatal accident to assist them in their investigation. In addition, road users with possible camera footage of the incident, particularly those on the Ranelagh Road between 10.45pm and 11.15pm on the same Tuesday, have also been requested to come forth.
