Elderly Gentleman Passes Away After Collision Close to Nobber, County Meath

A collision between a car and a van in Co Meath led to the death of an elderly man in his 80s. The incident occurred on the R162 road from Nobber to Kingscourt at approximately 5 o’clock in the evening of Tuesday. The now deceased man was the van’s operator. The other vehicle had two occupants, who were rushed to the hospital for medical attention.

In the aftermath of the crash, the police preserved the scene for a comprehensive technical investigation, which necessitated shutting the R162 on Tuesday night and implementing local detours.

The police are appealing for witnesses to come forward, specifically those who were on the road between Navan and Kingscourt from 4.30 to 5.30pm and had dash cameras in operation. Relevant footage can be made available to aid the investigation.
