Ebosele Replaces Injured Coleman

Due to an injury, the 35-year-old Republic of Ireland captain, Séamus Coleman, has been declared unfit to participate in the upcoming UEFA Nations League match against Greece on Tuesday evening. This unforeseen event, which happened after a 2-0 loss to England at the Aviva Stadium on Saturday, has led to him heading back to his team, Everton, for rest and recovery.

Festy Ebosele from Udinese, who recently moved to Watford on a year-long loan during the final days of the summer transfer, will be replacing Coleman in the squad. The Football Association of Ireland (FAI) officially confirmed his inclusion by stating, “Festy Ebosele will join the squad for the UEFA Nations League fixture against Greece at the Aviva Stadium this Tuesday.”

Coleman sustained his injury after an encounter with England’s defender, Harry Maguire, during the match’s second half. He was on the right within the three-men Irish defence line. The 22-year-old Ebosele is expected to bring some additional speed to the field for newly appointed head coach Heimir Hallgrímsson. In his first assignment, Hallgrímsson opted for the seasoned Matt Doherty as his right wing-back.
