A man, reportedly in his late twenties, has been apprehended following a drug bust in Dublin 3 where cannabis worth around €6.8 million was captured. This ensued on Friday, and was the result of a combined operation between the Revenue’s Customs Service and the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau. Revenue officials reportedly confiscated about 343kg of herbal cannabis. The man questioned is currently held in a Dublin Garda station under the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act of 1996 for his involvement in the investigation. Investigating Gardaí have confirmed that enquiries are still underway.
