€1.1m Cannabis Found at Dublin Port

A male in his 50s has been taken into custody subsequent to a cannabis confiscation worth €1.1 million at Dublin Harbour. The man was apprehended following law enforcement officers from the Dublin Metropolitan Region (DMR) north central divisional drug squad discovered the narcotics on Wednesday afternoon. Authorities found 55 kilograms of herbal cannabis camouflaged within a shipment of bottled water and gardening materials inside a van that arrived via a ferry from the United Kingdom. Currently, the man is being held at a Garda station in Dublin under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act of 1996 and is subjected to be detained for a maximum of seven days.
