“Duo Arrested for £2.1m Tyrone Cannabis”

Following a search operation in Cookstown and Coalisland, Co Tyrone, the police have taken into custody two individuals where they found suspected cannabis valued about £2.1 million (€2.4 million). The operations took place in the early part of Saturday under the auspices of the Misuse of Drugs Act.

The spokesperson for the Northern Ireland Police Service commented that a large amount of suspected cannabis, two vehicles, and numerous other items were seized in the operation. The cannabis has an estimated street value around £2.1 million.

The individuals apprehended, a 37-year-old and a 48-year-old, were suspected to be involved in the supply of controlled drugs and are presently being held police custody.

The spokesperson continued stating that this operation marks a crucial dent in the distribution and supply of drugs in local communities. Substances like these are dangerous and the police force remains committed to combat the spread of illegal drugs.
