Ducati Sport Classic 1000 by Flying Hermans – Images and info

Flying Hermans is the name of a Belgian Café Racer Club that was founded a couple of years ago.
One of its members had a bad accident last summer riding his Ducati Sport Classic 1000 that got his bike almost completely destroyed, but the man, called Andy, stubbornly refused to get rid of it and began a long restoration process whose remarkable results can be admired in these awesome pictures.

As you can imagine, the project turned out to be neither easy nor cheap: the first thing Andy had to find was another bike to cannibalize for spare parts, and the choice fell on a Paul Smart 1000 Limited Edition (curiously enough, the same bike chosen to revive the Ducati Sport 1000 Moto Brilliance Cafe Racer we talked about a while ago) from which he lifted frame and tank.
Both parts got then repainted and adapted for the Ducati.
The cool saddle is hand-made and is considerably smaller than the original, so as to give the motorcycle a sleaker and modern figure, while the Marchesini rims come from a Ducati 999 and are paired with Brembo discs borrowed from a Ducati 998.

The headlight is provided by Motowheels, the tiny mirrors are from British Oberon, and that peculiar titanium exhaust system comes from Italian specialist Zard.
Nice job Andy.
