Ducati collectors items: A stamp in honour of 2007’s victory

Soccer teams that win the championship, Italy as World Cup winners in Germany, the 100 year anniversary of Juventus…most commemorative stamps in Italy, until now, have always been dedicated almost exclusively to sporting achievements relative to soccer.
But…!The MotoGP title won by Ducati hasn’t gone unnoticed, even by those who don’t understand a thing a motorcycling.

And so, 34 years after the last victory by the Italian company in the world bike championships, Italian Post has decided to take the plunge.
On the 31st of May a stamp in honour of Borgo Panigale’s GP7 Desmosedici will be printed, with the emblem of the Bolognan company appearing on the top right.
The black and white background recalls the finishing flag that crowned Ducati queen for 2007.
We thank Ninja for the news, and conclude with his words: “whoever’s interested, being passionate about stamp collecting, I leave some advice: turn up on the first day of release, or better yet, book one.
