A yellow alert for wind and rain has been declared for Dublin and three additional eastern Irish counties on Thursday. The caution, originally released for Dublin and Wicklow, was expanded on Thursday morning to include Louth and Meath. Starting at 9am on Thursday, the warning is in effect until 8 pm that day. The forecast from Met Éireann indicates the potential for flooding in certain areas, traffic delays and possible disruptions on the roads. Thursday’s weather will consist of heavy rain at intervals, accompanying strong, gusty winds, particularly along the coasts and at higher elevations.
Looking toward the future, Friday’s weather will be cooler and brighter, with sunny intervals and scattered rain showers, primarily found in Ulster, Connacht and west Munster. The showers will be less frequent in the east and southeast. The expected temperature lies between 10 and 14 degrees, with winds blowing at a moderate pace from the north to northwest. The night will be chilly but predominantly dry with clear skies. A slight grass frost may be possible as the temperature falls to between 2 and 6 degrees.
Saturday’s weather will be cool yet sunny, with a few showers in the west and north. Max temperatures will range from 11 to 13 degrees and wind will blow at a light to moderate speed from the west. The night will be characterised by clear skies and a dry environment, with the lowest temperature ranging from 4 to 7 degrees.
