Irish Rail has issued an updated schedule for its northern and western lines reminding commuters to arrive between one to seven minutes early starting Monday. The modifications are due to adjustments in the new timetable which was introduced on the 26th of August, addressing previous “overly ambitious” travel durations and making room for a planned hourly Dublin-Belfast service, set to commence in October.
During Monday morning peak hours, train services departing from Maynooth and Drogheda across the Maynooth and Drogheda lines will in most cases start operating earlier by three to seven minutes. On the flip side, evening services mostly retain their regular departure times, but passengers should anticipate slightly prolonged journey times to Maynooth and Drogheda, the increment ranging from three to five minutes.
One change involving a Dart service is that the Malahide-bound route will have a new origin/destination – Howth. The 6.52am service from Dublin Connolly to Malahide will, from now on, head to Howth, likewise, the 7.24am service that usually begins at Malahide to Bray will now start its journey from Howth at the same time.
Additionally, a minor adjustment applies to one M3 Parkway commuter service: the 5.20am service from Connolly-M3 Parkway will instead depart five minutes later at 5.25am.
All routes from Heuston, including those through Phoenix Park Tunnel, will remain as they are. Morning departures for selected services will follow a new schedule as listed below:
– The 6.27am Maynooth-Connolly service will now leave at 6.20am
– The 7.13am Maynooth-Grand Canal Dock service is adjusted to 7.08am
– The 7.43am Maynooth-Grand Canal Dock will now leave at 7.39am
– The 7.57am Maynooth to Connolly service will now depart at 7.54am
– The 8.23am Maynooth-Connolly service is now set to leave at 8.19am
– The 8.43am Maynooth to Grand Canal Dock departs now at 8.40am
– The 9.13am Maynooth-Grand Canal Dock service is adjusted to 9.09am
– The 5.38am Longford-Pearse service leaves a minute early at 5:37am. Conversely, the 6.14am Longford-Connolly service remains unaffected by these changes.
The Dublin commuter route extending from Dundalk to Drogheda have several timetable re-schedules with their departure varied by one to five minutes. The given alterations encompass:
– The 5:30am service from Dundalk to Grand Canal Dock will now embark at 5:20am
– The 6:26am rail from Drogheda to Connolly will now kick off at 6:21am
– The train previously departing from Drogheda to Grand Canal Dock at 6:47am will now commence its journey at 6:38am
– The Dundalk to Connolly service, earlier leaving at 6:28am, will now deploy at 6:23am
– The 7:06am connection from Drogheda to Grand Canal Dock now gets a start at 6:58am
– The 6:54am schedule from Dundalk to Connolly will now start at 6:49am
– The 7:42am trip from Drogheda to Grand Canal Dock now begins at 7:41am
– The Drogheda to Connolly service has been bumped up from 7:53am to 7:50am
– The 8:28am service from Drogheda to Connolly will now leave at 8:26am
– The 9:08am departure from Drogheda to Grand Canal Dock will now get rolling at 9:03am
All scheduled services running from Connolly to Drogheda and vice versa have undergone a respective readjustment of their timings along the route.
Furthermore, the evening commute from Connolly to Drogheda now sets off roughly two minutes earlier than previously stated.
