Dublin Fire Brigade Battles Sandyford Blaze

On Sunday afternoon, a gorse fire near Barnacullia townland, Sandyford, Dublin, was battled by six units of the Dublin Fire Brigade (DFB), including two water tankers. Local law enforcement and ESB personnel were also present at the location.

The DFB revealed in their social media updates that Woodside Road was temporarily inaccessible due to the situation. They further mentioned that the smoke was being widely dispersed because of the strong winds. The fire brigade was working hard in an attempt to safeguard properties in the vicinity of the fire, and they advised locals to keep their windows shut.

Local councillor Oisín O’Connor suggested that residents remain indoors due to the significant amount of smoke in the atmosphere. Despite the fire being confined to a relatively small location, it generated a substantial amount of smoke, as shown in videos posted on the internet. The DFB reported an influx of approximately 200 calls regarding the fire.
