“Dry, Bright Weather Ahead: Met Éireann”

Meteorological service Met Éireann anticipates favourable weather conditions for the upcoming weekend and the start of next week, despite the sporadic appearance of showers. The service projects that temperatures may reach up to 24 degrees early next week.

Many places will experience overcast skies on Thursday, accompanied by patches of rain, drizzle, and fog. Nonetheless, brighter conditions will progressively emerge from the west later in the morning continuing into the afternoon, paving the way for extended periods of sunshine.

Later in the afternoon and evening, intermittent showers are expected, with the possibility of heavy rain, particularly in Ulster, northern Connacht, and the north Midlands. Peak temperatures are predicted to range between 16 and 21 degrees.

Thursday night should see showers mainly confined to certain western and northern parts, becoming more isolated.

Friday promises longer durations of sunshine and overall bright conditions. However, scattered showers – some potentially heavy – are also anticipated. Cloudier conditions may set in towards the evening, particularly in western regions, with rainfall along the west coast before darkness falls. The mercury should hit between 16 and 20 degrees, accompanied by light to moderate breezes from the southwest.

Saturday morning will commence with rainfall spreading eastwards, but it is expected to dissipate into the Irish Sea by early afternoon. The rest of the day will witness dry, sunnier conditions extending from the west coast to all regions. Scattered showers may prevail during the afternoon and early evening, particularly in the midlands, east, and north. By evening, most spots will be dry with top temperatures between 17 and 21 degrees.

The fog and mist are expected to dissipate early Sunday, paving the way for a day filled with extended periods of sunshine and dry conditions. However, more clouds are anticipated later in the day, particularly in the west.
The highest temperatures on the western coastline will be about 17 degrees, while regions further east can anticipate temperatures reaching 22 degrees, all under gentle to moderate breezes from the southwest.
As for the weather from Monday onwards, Met Éireann stated there’s some uncertainty. A blend of sun and cloudiness is anticipated despite some parts of the country witnessing rainfall. Tuesday or Wednesday could see temperatures climbing to 24 degrees.
