Domino’s Hiring for Peak Season

Domino’s, the prominent pizza chain, has announced that they are preparing to recruit an additional 5,000 employees across Britain and Ireland in the forthcoming months. Their intention is to enhance their delivery, in-store and pizza making teams, increasing their current workforce of 35,000 in anticipation of their most active business period.

The first half of 2024 saw a decline in orders for Domino’s, which management ascribed to a sluggish beginning to the year. However, an uptick in consumer confidence was noted in August, with the company hopeful of bolstering sales through better pricing strategies.

Despite experiencing reduced food and energy costs, the success of Domino’s, operating 1,344 sites across Britain and Ireland, was somewhat hampered by the escalation in the national living wage. Looking ahead to the latter half of the calendar year – traditionally their busiest – Domino’s anticipates the necessity for increased staffing levels.

The COO, Nicola Frampton, commented that it has been a favourable first six months for the company, mentioning the growth engendered by the expansion of their chain and the implementation of a new loyalty programme. CEO Andrew Rennie confirmed last month that though they had a measured start to the year, they had noted a resurgence in orders over the summer months.

Boosted sales subsequent to the Euro 2024 football competition and the persistent expansion plans were also cited. Around 60 new locations were launched last year, but the chain plans to outdo this by opening 70 new stores during the current financial year.
