Dear Editor,
In the year 1971, an investigation into the practicability and economic aspect of creating a brief subterranean route in inner Dublin was proposed by An Foras Fórbartha within the Dublin Transportation Study. The purpose behind it was to facilitate a better connection between the city’s four extant railway routes. Yet, even after five decades, debates persist over its actual design.
During this same period, Beijing managed to erect 27 metro lines along with 490 terminals, with the majority finished in the last two decades.
Isn’t it high time we ceased argument and progressed with the development? Kind Regards, Richard Bannister, Kildare.
