Demonstrations and Road Congestion

Dear Sir,
Protests unfolding regularly in the heart of Dublin have become a common element of metropolitan existence, as encapsulated by the anti-immigration protests clear-out from the city centre, leading to 19 arrests on September 19th (“News”). There was a notable disruption in cross-city bus transportation during the protest on Thursday, resulting in severe delays or complete service halts, imposing significant inconvenience on a multitude of residents.

Shouldn’t Dublin Bus contemplate a contingency plan for such protests, such as re-routing buses within the city centre to ensure uninterrupted service to the outlying suburbs for those who prefer not to navigate the city centre?
Yours faithfully,
LOUIS O’FLAHERTY,
Santry,
Dublin 9.
