“Decades of Love, Fun, Debate in Crowes’ Nest”

Dear Sir, – Approaching my 94th birthday, I continue to find joy in morning reading. Recollections have been stirred by Brendan Crowe’s observations (Letters, 21st March), regarding two penned correspondences by bearers of the Crowe name that found their place on your 19th March letters page. My mind was cast back to a time of immense pleasure when my critical letter about a specific stance of one of your writers was published.

Subsequently, in a comical twist of events, my wife, Mary Crowe, penned a letter praising the very same journalist I had previously reproached.
Our home, over the course of 63 years, was a haven of love, merriment, riveting discussions and occasional differences, much like the one aforementioned. Her absence is profoundly felt. – Yours faithfully,
LOUIS CROWE,
Raheny,
Dublin 5.
