David Davin-Power, ex-RTÉ, dies

David Davin-Power, a renowned broadcaster and political correspondent, has passed away at the age of 72. Born in Dublin, Mr. Davin-Power was well-known as a host on the RTÉ Radio’s Morning Ireland programme and also held the role of Northern Ireland editor.

Colleagues and political figures have paid tribute to Mr. Davin-Power’s skill in simplifying complex issues for viewers. Bryan Dobson, who previously read the news on the RTÉ News Six One, commended his ability to focus on the essential aspects of news stories. Additionally, Taoiseach Simon Harris saluted Mr. Davin-Power as a respected figure in Irish households, appreciating his extensive career.

Having spearheaded the Morning Ireland programme as one of its first presenters, Mr. Davin-Power proved himself as an accomplished Northern Editor of RTÉ during a crucial historical period. Mr. Davin-Power is survived by his wife, Dearbhla, his five children, and his extended family.
