Dani Pedrosa’s collarbone fracture was complete and not small

Dani Pedrosa’s heroic ride to fifth during the U.
S.
GP at Laguna Seca, and his subsequent pass on the other walking wounded, Jorge Lorenzo, has taken on even more significance.
Returning to his native Spain after the race, Pedrosa underwent more medical tests to check his collarbone situation following the exhausting 32-lapper – but this time his doctors performed a 3D CAT scan – which revealed that he did not have just a ’smallfracture as was initially diagnosed, but a complete fracture.

The extent of fracture wasn’t seen on X-rays due to swelling and limited visibility of the injury, but Pedrosa reported on his Repsol Honda blog, that the collarbone isn’t displaced, so fortunately he will not need surgery.
Pedrosa injured his collarbone during the third free practice at Sachsenring, and was ruled out of the German GP, not because of the fracture, but because he was suffering from low blood pressure and dizziness.
The Spaniard will be undergoing physiotherapy during the summer hiatus and then a further medical check-up ahead of the Indianapolis GP next month.
