“Curry Leads USA to Olympics Gold”

The final of the Olympic basketball saw USA triumph over France 98 to 87. Regardless of the global progress in the sport, the American men’s basketball team consistently demonstrates its dominance in the Olympics, confirming this by procuring gold in Paris amidst an energetic local audience on Saturday evening.

The French team, directed by the NBA’s highly skilled youngster Victor Wembanyama, aspired to upset the Americans’ winning streak, particularly following the US team’s slim victory over Serbia during the semi-final. However, the US team’s impressive lineup including future Hall of Famers such as LeBron James, Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant, along with other All-Stars, proved too potent.

As France plotted a potential comeback late into the game, Curry sunk multiple three-point shots. That night, he successfully completed 8 out of 13 three-point attempts, contributing 24 points to the US total. Despite France’s loss, Wembanyama emerged as their highest scorer with 26 points.

Sharing his experience post-match, Curry revealed an initial struggle with his shooting, followed by a sudden return of his rhythm resulting in a flood of points. Out of the nine most recent Olympics, this triumph marks the USA’s eighth gold, with the only exception occurring in 2004 in Athens. More victorious than their male counterparts, the US women’s team also aims for gold in their concluding match on Sunday.
