This coming Saturday, Irish music group The Coronas are returning for another performance at Dublin’s Fairview Park. This follows their successful concert there the previous year.
Their most recent gig at Fairview Park came after the launch of their seventh record, Time Stopped, which was released in October 2022. The album managed to secure top spot on the Irish album charts straight away, a noteworthy accomplishment for The Coronas as they are the only self-produced Irish group to achieve three consecutive number one albums.
Hit songs like Heroes or Ghosts, Mark My Words, Closer To You, Addicted To Progress, and San Diego Song promise an electrifying night for their followers. Those planning to see bandmates Danny O’Reilly, Graham Knox and Conor Egan at the Fairview Park this Saturday, pay heed to the following information.
The Coronas are slated to perform at Fairview Park on Saturday, June 15th. There are still tickets obtainable via ticketmaster.ie when this was written, and please ensure to only buy your tickets from legitimate providers.
Entry to the venue begins at 7pm and the show is due to commence at 7.30pm. Sorcha Richardson from Dalkey, whose second album Smiling like an Idiot, is full of sentimental nods to Dublin, will be the opening act on Saturday evening.
Regarding transportation to and from the venue, the organisers have stressed the need for ample travel time due to possible traffic and parking delays. It is advised to consider walking, cycling, and using public or private coach services, as the venue does not provide parking facilities. Organisers have also issued a warning against illegal parking in the neighbourhood areas close to the venue.
The Dart will be providing transportation services to and from the musical event. Clontarf Road station is an ideal drop-off point if you wish to utilise the Dart. Please note the final train from Clontarf Road station towards Connolly Station leaves at 00:16, whilst the last train heading northbound departs at 23:55. Additional details are available on the website irishrail.ie.
For those favouring bus travel, Dublin Bus will be ferrying concert-goers to sites near the event. From the city centre, bus departures can be found from Eden Quay (routes 14, 15, 27a, 27b), Abbey Street Lower (routes 6, H1, H2, H3, 130) and Talbot Street (routes 42, 43). Audience members are advised to alight at the Fairview Park stop.
Clear signage will guide you towards the concert venue, situated near Annesley Bridge in Fairview Park. As a reference point, contemplating the band’s recent performance in Seattle, Washington, you can expect a selection of fan favourites – including ‘Speak Up’, ‘Just Like That’, ‘Strive’ and ‘The Long Way’.
As for safety measures, individuals under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a person at least 25 years old. If not, admittance will be declined, and no refund will be issued. Proof of age will be required, acceptable forms are a passport, Garda age card or driver’s licence. Remember to allow a buffer for security checks on entry. Bags larger than A4 size won’t be allowed and all bags may be subject to inspection. To avoid delay, consider leaving your bag at home. No cloakroom or storage facilities will be available.
Prohibited items include umbrellas, alcohol, garden furniture, selfie sticks, flares, glasses or cans, among other things. Please bear in mind that once you’ve exited the concert, re-entry will not be permitted.
Is it permissible to take pictures during the show?
You are allowed to, but you can only use a smartphone or a compact digital camera. Professional cameras with removable lenses and other recording equipment are not permitted.
What’s the climatic prediction?
Regrettably, as of the time this was written, it’s predicted that it will rain on Saturday, with the mercury hovering between 12 and 15 degrees. As with all Irish weather prognostications, this could alter.
The show is scheduled to take place under a canvas covering. However, it should be remembered that Fairview Park is a grassy, standing-only venue. Therefore, dress appropriately for typical Irish weather conditions. Consider wearing wellingtons, boots or trainers, layering your clothes, wearing a raincoat or poncho, and applying sun cream. However, umbrellas are not allowed.
