“Consello Appoints Five Senior Advisers”

Irish PR expert Declan Kelly’s advisory enterprise, Consello, is broadening its horizons by integrating five esteemed advisors from political and commercial arenas. In the latest statement put forth on Friday, the company conveyed that it had onboarded Lord Mervyn Davies of Abersoch, a former UK government minister, Sajid Javid, previous British chancellor, high-ranking banker Anne Finucane, EY’s ex-global head Carmine Di Sibio, and DLA Piper’s global co-chair, Frank Ryan.

These inductions, as described by Consello, will amplify its reservoir of expertise and knowledge. Lord Davies, given his background as a banker and erstwhile Labour government minister, and experience from serving as Standard Chartered plc’s CEO and chairman for a dozen years, will head the company’s advisory board. His focus will primarily be on unearthing beneficial avenues in non-private equity sectors globally. Although, the firm’s private equity faction, Consello Capital, operates with a distinct advisory board.

After dedicating 14 years to politics, which included high-ranking roles like the chancellor of the exchequer in the Conservative Party, Mr Javid recently retired from politics. Currently, he is associated with Centricus, a global investment enterprise.

Long-time leader of Bank of America, Ms Finucane, and Carmine Di Sibio, EY’s erstwhile global chairman and CEO, are also a part of Consello’s vision for expansion. Mr Di Sibio had initiated Project Everest, an endeavor to decentralize EY on a global scale, which faced cancellation in 2022 following resistance from the company’s US division’s heads.

Frank Ryan holds multiple positions at DLA Piper including global co-chair, global co-chief executive and Americas chair. He is also part of the Wall Street Journal CEO Council and Thomson Reuters’ global strategy board.

Declan Kelly believes that these experts will bring in an abundance of experience and connections to the Consello platform as they move ahead with their global business expansion, which he finds to be exhilarating.

Established two years prior, Consello categorizes itself as a platform dedicated to advisory and investing. The firm operates out of multiple cities including New York, Atlanta, Miami, London and Barcelona and anticipates further geographical expansion in the foreseeable future.

Co Tipperary’s own Mr Kelly, held a prior leadership position at Teneo, a global consulting and PR agency. However, allegations of inebriated behaviour at a social gathering in 2021 triggered his resignation. More recently, it has been made known that Serena Williams, a renowned tennis professional, will be getting guidance from Consello on her commercial ventures. She first became a participant within Consello in the previous year, partnering alongside American football ace, Tom Brady. This year also saw footballer Gary Neville assuming a position within the organisation.
