Conor Murray Renews Munster, Ireland Contract

Conor Murray, who is likely to continue as a reserve scrumhalf for Ireland’s concluding 2024 Six Nations match against Scotland this Saturday, has sealed a fresh one-year agreement with Munster and the IRFU. Both Murray and Ireland’s captain, Peter O’Mahony, are scheduled to conclude their IRFU central contracts at this season’s end. A month ago, rumours surfaced that Munster had presented contract extensions to the seasoned pair.

Although the IRFU bolsters all provincial contracts, and despite Munster being compelled to tighten their purse strings, it has become known that Murray has accepted a fresh one year contract. The union is aiding the province in presenting downsized packages for both players, however, O’Mahony’s future remains more uncertain.

Murray, now 34, has remained loyal to Munster since first representing his home province in 2010. Thus far, he has acquired 115 caps for Ireland since his initial cap in 2011.
