The Prime Minister was urged by Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer in the Commons over how his program could match the Tory election pledge. Then Mr Johnson mentioned that he plans to cap care expenses in England at £86,000, paid for by a new tax.

He is also being asked by the Commons how the new design will work. He answered, “This is the first time that the country has grown in to deal with the menace of these catastrophic costs.”
