“Coldplay Dublin: Croke Park Concert Details”

Croke Park is set to be a haven for Coldplay enthusiasts in the approaching days as the group completes the European stage of their Music of Spheres World Tour with four performances at the Dublin location. The anticipation for the concerts is at fever pitch, with front-person, Chris Martin, astonishing fans with an unexpected show on Grafton Street on Wednesday as part of a music video filming for the band’s fresh single, We Pray.

Martin was the only representative from Coldplay stationed on Grafton Street where he put on a display of the new track alongside Burna Boy, Tini, Elyanna, and Little Simz, who also appear on the studio version. The British ensemble, established in 1997, has a discography of nine albums and will be unveiling a new album, Moon Music, this coming October.

Planning to attend one of their four concerts in Croke Park? Read on to discover all you need to know. When do the gigs take place? Coldplay has scheduled four performances in the upcoming days at Croke Park: on Thursday, August 29th, Friday, August 30th, Sunday, September 1st, and Monday, September 2nd.

Has ticket availability dried up? Regrettably, all tickets for the four performances are sold out, however, stay tuned to Ticketmaster as resell tickets could be listed. It’s strongly recommended by organisers for fans to get tickets strictly from accredited resellers.

What steps to take if I possess a ticket but it’s yet to be collected? Fortunate enough to snag tickets and still need to retrieve them? You can drop by the Ticketmaster box office stationed at the crossroads of the North Circular Road and Russell Street/Jones Road. This box office will commence operations from 3pm.

At what time does the concert kick-off? Entry is from 5pm with prior queuing disallowed. The concert will be initiated by the first supporting act at 6.30pm. A second supporting act will step on stage at 7.15pm before Coldplay’s performance at 8.30pm. Attendees are advised to arrive at the venue at least 45 minutes before commencement.

Who have been lined up as the supporting acts?

A rising star from Lucan, Aby Coulibaly, has been gaining significant recognition due to her music this year. Recently, this 24-year-old artiste was chosen to open the show for Olivia Dean, former member of Rudimental, in Dublin. Coulibaly’s most recent song, Glow, was unveiled only a week ago.

On Instagram, she expressed her elation over supporting Coldplay in an upcoming performance: “I’m still not over the fact that what’s going to unfold tomorrow. I’ve loved Coldplay since I was a kid, thanks to my mum. I have this vivid memory of my sister rushing down the stairs to play Magic for mum and me when it was released, and hearing it always takes me back to that moment. NOSTALGIA!!! Moio and I had discussed our dream to experience Coldplay live one day, and how extraordinary that would be. Now, not just am I getting the chance to witness them live, but I’ve been honoured to set the stage for them.”

Maggie Rogers, an American singer-songwriter, will also extend her support to Coldplay. Her latest album, titled Don’t Forget Me, was brought out earlier in the year. Rogers has featured in several shows and recently collaborated with Chris Martin on stage in Vienna to present a rendition of Taylor Swift’s song Love Story.

How can you get to and from the venue?
Croke Park boasts excellent public connectivity. Various public transit options including buses, rail, Dart, and Luas can help you reach a commutable distance from the venue. Walking from O’Connell street to the stadium would take about 15 to 20 minutes.

Wondering about the playlist?

Coldplay, an acclaimed band with a myriad of songs across several albums, recently performed in Vienna, Austria at the Ernst Happel Stadion. Their repertoire included tunes like ‘Higher Power’, ‘Paradise’, ‘The Scientist’, amongst others, and covers of Taylor Swift’s ‘The 1′ and The Chainsmokers’ ‘Something Just Like This’. The performance provides an inkling of what future performances could entail.
