Clanwilliam, a global healthcare technology firm, has introduced a new application as part of a €700,000 investment dedicated to improving the way GPs and patients communicate. The firm is also set to double the investment in the forthcoming year to facilitate the further expansion and advancement of the app named Pippo.
The introduction of the application is in response to the surging need from GP practices for solutions to enhance productivity and address the growing demands on their services. The purpose of the application is to facilitate interactions, thereby helping GP practices save an approximate 40 administrative hours every month. It simplifies requests for repeat prescriptions, appointment scheduling, and other patient inquiries.
After successfully going through a trial phase, the application has been fully released. During the trial period, nearly 200 GP practices incorporated the app’s booking management features. The online repeat prescriptions functionality is currently live. It is anticipated to save 15 to 30 minutes per prescription, thereby providing more clinical capacity.
The application is also entirely compatible with current GP practice management systems, including Socrates and Helix Practice Manager. Eileen Byrne, managing director of Clanwilliam Ireland, asserted that the healthcare field is undergoing rapid changes in the current digital era. Digital solutions play an essential part in making healthcare services more flexible, swift, and reactive, benefiting medical professionals and patients alike.
Since the pandemic started, Clanwilliam Group has expanded as healthcare systems have digitalised. Starting with creating and delivering practice-management software for Ireland’s GPs and consultants, Clanwilliam now offers a broad spectrum of electronic health technology. This includes software for managing aged care and medications in nursing homes, overseeing theatres and outpatient departments, handling clinical correspondence through speech recognition, and supporting virtual clinics and GP management. The firm’s main operations zones are in Ireland, the UK, New Zealand, and Australia.
