Italian show girl Canalis is on a winning ticket if you accept that when a man’s friends approve of the lady in question, you’ve hit the jackpot (we’re not talking the Italian lottery here as Clooney is considered an even bigger catch).
The Clooney–Canalis liasion is the hottest gossip from Italy this summer, and only the Italians think that the whole thing is the biggest furphy this year.
According to 80 percent of Italian gossip column readers, Italy’s biggest “bufala” (meaning an unlikely report, something not to be believed, or a red herring) is that George would ever marry Elisabetta, or that she is indeed the right gal for him.
This may seem unfair to an international observer who saw Elisabetta Canalis on the red carpet with Clooney at the Venice Film Festival.
But then what do the Italians know that the rest of the world doesn’t, having gotten used to Canalis on their television screens for the last ten years or more? What do the veline get up to when they’re not showing their Italian boobs on the silver screen or making semi-pornographic calendars?However, it seems that the Clooney handbag effect has the Americans hooked.
Matt Damon has said: “She is a really, really wonderful woman.
