Challenges Faced by Ahmadis in Pakistan

Dear Reader,
The upcoming UN International Day of Peace, scheduled for September 21st, arrives amidst rampant injustice and turmoil globally. The situation facing Ahmadis in Pakistan demands immediate attention. This year’s theme of the UN International Day of Peace is the promotion of a peaceful culture, and it encourages principles like tolerance, empathy, and respect.

However, the reality in Pakistan is harsh and distressing. Ahmadis suffer from ingrained discrimination, with their places of worship being assaulted and even their burial grounds being desecrated, blatantly contradicting the notion of peace.

As an Ahmadi Muslim and a prior resident of Pakistan, I have firsthand experience of the persistent harassment our community endures. The heartache of witnessing hate crimes against the deceased is heartrendingly indescribable.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community has historically been advocates for peace and justice, expediently pointing out that justice is a prerequisite for peace.
