Casey Stoner to be operated after final round

Casey Stoner might be operated on almost immediately after the final round of the season is the latest news about the 23 year-old 2007 MotoGP Championship winner.
Casey had already announced his intention to finish the two last races of the year with his strong motivation to test the new Ducati Desmosedici 2009 prototype in Valencia.

After the surgery on his left scaphoid he faces a long road back to competition.
Casey Stoner said: “It’s going to take us time to come back, but I think that by the time the racing starts next year we should be ready.
We believe that we will be quite strong again next year, and at least able to try and fight for the championship.
I think that we are quite lucky to have found it now; this season hasn’t gone the way we had planned –I’ve made a few mistakes- so it’s better that we find it now and then get ready for a better attack next year.
