While Casey Stoner may not earn $ 35 million a year like his rival Valentino Rossi , the Aussie motorcycle champion does hold his own in his native country.
Stoner was ranked 8th in the Top 10 for Australia’s Business Review Weekly magazine’s Top 50 Sports Earners of 2009.
The 2007 MotoGP World Champion moved into the top ten with $ 5 million in earnings last year, up from 16th place in 2008, while motocross star Chad Reed was the fifth biggest sports earner last year, with $8.
8 million, falling from number 3 the year before.
