Carlow Woman’s Abduction by Car Thief Investigated

Law enforcement officers in Carlow have called for any eyewitnesses to step forward following the kidnapping of a woman from a parked car. The vehicle, a 08 D registered grey Peugeot 307 hatchback, was nicked outside a fast food shop as the delivery driver had left it momentarily to pick up food from Rico’s fast food joint on Royal Oak Road, Bagenalstown, Co Carlow around 11.30pm the previous Sunday. The vehicle’s owner had foolishly left his keys in the ignition, providing an easy opportunity for a male perpetrator to abscond with the vehicle, making a quick exit towards Church Street. The owner’s partner was unfortunate enough to be in the back seat of the car when this occurred. A short while later, the car was stopped by the culprit approximately a few hundred metres from where it was originally stolen, and the woman was forcefully ejected before the man drove off once again. Gardaí labelled the incident as an extremely terrifying experience for the lady involved and are requesting anyone with any helpful information, dashcam footage, or CCTV coverage to contact Bagenalstown Garda Station at 059-9721212.
