Dear esteemed sirs, – I wish to underscore to your younger audience the significance of meticulous planning, tenacious efforts, and resolve. Amidst the Covid pandemic, I, along with many others, found solace in sea swimming – or more accurately, sea dipping. As the days, weeks, and months rolled by, I finally accomplished my goal of reaching the 100-metre buoy located at Blackrock in Salthill, Galway, a feat that filled me with immense joy.
I should point out, the tide was low as I made my approach from the shore, allowing me to walk a significant part of the distance. However, the achievement was still rather gratifying, enabling me to tick off an item from my bucket list.
With regards,
DAVID CURRAN,
Knocknacarra,
Galway.
