In 1963 Gianni Mostile, with a passion for race cars and hand-made shoes, invented a driving mocassin with the sole made from small, rubber plugs.
A patent was given him by the Italian Minister for Industry and Commerce and the shoes were requested by such refined figures as JFK, Gianni Agnelli and Roberto Rossellini.

Now Car Shoe in Milan has passed from unisex products to collections for men, women and children, together with leather models that all make for characteristic and elegant design.
The shop has been designed by architect Roberto Baciocchi revives the brand’s tradition, in what was previously the Prada accessory store in Via della Spiga 1, Milan.
Two windows show a luxury racing car and the interior shows the roots and artisanship of the brand.
