In Co Laois, during the St Patrick’s Day parade, a car collided with a float resulting in two individuals getting hospitalised. The incident occurred around 11:30am on Stradbally’s Main Street. A vintage tractor, driven by a young man, had a trailer attached to it in which a woman, in her 30s, was seated. Suddenly, a car collided into the trailer, causing the locals to rush to aid the two victims. The parade had to be halted promptly following the crash.
Law enforcement have affirmed an ongoing investigation for this incident. Both the young man and the woman, who were taken to Midland Regional Hospital Portlaoise, suffered injuries, but thankfully, their lives are not in danger, as the medical team confirmed.
