Bus Safety Personnel

Dear reader,

It wasn’t long ago when we saw a photo of Justice Minister Helen McEntee, accompanied by high-ranking gardaí, asserting her sense of safety while strolling the streets of Dublin. The question that now arises – why is there a newfound need for security personnel aboard Dublin’s buses (News, October 7th)? Does this indicate a lapse in the city’s safety?

In other news, the highest grading ‘distinction’ has seen a decline in most subjects regarding the Junior Cycle results. Furthermore, concerns are rising regarding the possible consequences of Hurricane Milton on Ireland’s weather, post its prospective landfall in Florida.

Insights suggest that Northern Ireland is becoming an increasingly intimidating place for women to reside. Moving onto employee rights, many are questioning whether they are eligible to begin a follow-up maternity leave immediately after ending their first.

On a final note, steps are being implemented to counteract irresponsible behaviour on buses. Yet, the lack of organisation at bus stops remains a pressing concern. Instead of forming a proper queue, passengers crowd around until the bus appears, then rush forward haphazardly. It seems there remains significant uncertainty as to whether the first to arrive will indeed be the first to board the bus. Unfortunately, a remedy to this issue seems elusive.

Kind regards,

Margaret Butler,
Booterstown,
Co Dublin.
