While waiting for digital vaccination passports, Greece allows British tourists to enter the country, showing NHS card as proof of vaccination.
As restrictive measures in the UK gradually relax, Britons can now travel to Greece, if they have been fully vaccinated and can prove it. Greece will welcome vaccinated tourists from the United Kingdom starting May 3.
Although digital passports aren’t already available, Britons who want to travel to Greece can show handwritten NHS card. The card will be sufficient proof of having got the two jabs.
Greek tourism minister Harry Theoharis told The Times in this regard: “Until the UK has a digital passport, we have seen the paper cards that are provided with the two vaccine appointment dates and we are recognising them. They can be used on the ground and at the borders”.
Random spot testing will be taken on arrivals. In addition, minister Theoharis announced that measures can be strengthened, if positive cases increase.
Britons can travel abroad for holidays from May 17. UK government has hammered out a “traffic light” system to handle international holidays this summer.
Furthermore, travellers need to bear in mind rules existing in the country of destination, since it may require further test or quarantine for people coming from abroad.
