Brighton has revealed the appointment of Fabian Hürzeler, aged 31, as the new head coach until 2027, making him the youngest premier league manager in history, as stated by the club on Saturday. Hürzeler, who was born in America, succeeded Roberto De Zerbi, who left post-season after aiding the team in securing a slot in the European competition for the first time during his watch.
Previously, Hürzeler steered St Pauli to the apex of Germany’s second league tier, ensuring their rise to the Bundesliga as winners. Tony Bloom, the Brighton chairman, shared that Fabian was always a prominent contender from the start and had piqued their interest with his extraordinary leadership at St Pauli in the previous year and a half. Moreover, he expressed certainty in Fabian’s style of play aligning perfectly with that of Brighton & Hove Albion and believes it will be well-received by their fans.
He also pointed out Fabian’s outstanding coaching experience working with the German federation across various age groups.
