Bradley Secures USA Presidents Cup

In Canada, the US enjoyed its 10th consecutive triumph in the Presidents Cup, overcoming the International team with a score of 18½-11½. A requirement of four-and-a-half points in the 12 singles matches held on Sunday, allowed the USA to keep the trophy at the prestigious Royal Montreal Golf Club.

Keegan Bradley, the captain of the Ryder Cup, sealed the victory point, keeping the International team’s winless streak intact since 1998. Jason Day was convincingly defeated by Xander Schauffele in the initial face-off, while both Russell Henley and Patrick Cantlay came out victorious in their respective matches. In addition, Sam Burns battled to a draw against Tom Kim.

Bradley, completing a one-up victory against Si-woo Kim, made this trophy win possible, during an interview on the PGA Tour website he said, “‘Blimey! That was phenomenal. I wasn’t certain if I’d have this opportunity again and just to play, let alone win a point here…absolutely incredible”. Bradley also remembered when he was the losing point in the last Ryder Cup game and expressed his content if that was his final round as a player.

Also contributing to team USA’s victory were Collin Morikawa and Max Homa, while Hideki Matsuyama, Corey Conners and Christiaan Bezuidenhout scored victories for the International team.
