PGA of America announced on Monday that Brandt Snedeker has been appointed to serve as vice-captain in Keegan Bradley’s US Ryder Cup team. The team is set to contest for the trophy against Europe at Bethpage Black in New York next year.
Snedeker has an impressive record in the PGA Tour with nine victories – an achievement that earned him the title of the US-based circuit’s rookie of the year in 2007. He joins Webb Simpson, a previous US Open champion, on Bradley’s staff as a vice-captain.
Bradley, who was confirmed as the team captain in July, expressed his trust in Snedeker’s abilities, stating that he was quickly identified as a key player in the preparation for 2025 Ryder Cup. Brandt, having a considerable track record in the Ryder Cup, with an individual performance in 2016 standing out, will bring valuable experience and insight to the team.
The 2025 Ryder Cup marks Snedeker’s inaugural run as a vice-captain in the biennial team event. The Nashville, Tennessee native boasts a 4-2-0 career record in the Ryder Cup, with significant undefeated American status in 2016.
Thrilled with the opportunity, Snedeker expressed his intentions to channel his passion and pride to help bring Bradley’s vision of a New York Ryder Cup to fruition. In his role, he will join forces with his good friend, Webb, to provide support to Keegan and the whole team, propelling them towards a successful competition next September at Bethpage Black.
