Holidays in the UK will be allowed from April 12, along with outdoor drinking and dining at pub gardens and al fresco restaurants.
Yesterday evening, Boris Johnson revealed all of the details of his road map for exiting the national lockdown and reopening the economy.

Each of the four steps is separated by at least five weeks allowing four weeks for scientists to assess the data on infections and risks, and a further week to give people and businesses a week’s notice.
The regional tiers have been scrapped as all of England will move in lockstep. However, localised lockdowns may be required to contain outbreaks with mass testing.
March 8
- Schools, colleges, and universities return.
- Childcare resumes, including after-school or pre-school clubs.
- People can meet for recreation in outdoor public spaces on a one-to-one basis.
- Households can have a picnic outdoors.
- Care home residents will be allowed one regular named visitor.
March 29
- The Rule of Six returns or a larger group from two households can meet outdoors.
- Outdoor sports facilities reopen.
- Formally organised outdoor sports return.
- Stay at home comes to an end instead replaced by “stay local”. People should still work from home wherever possible.
April 12
- Non-essential retail reopens, including hairdressers and nail salons.
- Pubs and restaurants can reopen for outdoor purposes only. There will be no rules about requiring “substantial meals”. Customers will have to be seated when they order food and drink.
- Zoos and theme parks reopen.
- Libraries, museums, indoor leisure facilities, gyms, and pools will reopen.
- People will also be able to go on holiday in the UK with their own household as long as it is to self-contained accommodation.
- Funerals will be able to continue with up to 30 people and the number allowed to attend wedding receptions and commemorative events such as wakes will rise from six to 15.
May 17 – Indoor dining, cinemas, football fans in stadiums
- Social contact rules will be lifted outdoors including the rule of six or two household limit but it will still be illegal to have gatherings of more than 30 people.
- Indoor mixing will be permitted again but only applying the rule of six or two household limit.
- Pubs and restaurants will be able to open for indoor dining. Meeting inside a pub will still be limited to the rule of six or two households.
- Entertainment venues such as cinemas will reopen.
- Children’s play areas can open.
- Hotels and B&Bs can open.
- Indoor adult exercise classes can resume.
- Fans allowed back into stadiums but with limits on numbers attending. Indoor events with a capacity of 1,000 people or half full will be allowed. Outdoors, a capacity of 4,000 people will be allowed or half full – whichever figure is lower. Large football stadiums such as Wembley will be able to reopen with up to 10,000 people or a quarter full – whichever is lower.
- Up to 30 people will be able to attend weddings, receptions, funerals, wakes, bar mitzvahs and christenings.
June 21
- All limits will be removed.
- Nightclubs and live events return.
- Limits may be removed on weddings.
