BNY Mellon is nearing an agreement to establish their new office headquarters in the Dublin docklands

Global financial corporation BNY Mellon, based in the US, is believed to have chosen the Shipping Office, located in the south docklands of Dublin, as its new Irish headquarters. The company, which employs approximately 1,700 individuals across Dublin, Wexford, and Cork, is reportedly in advanced stages of negotiations for a space measuring between 7,432sq m and 8,361sq m at the facility.

If all goes as planned, the company’s new office space could host over 800 employees. The Shipping Office is a product of Marlet Property Group, led by developer Pat Crean, and is built on the site once owned by the British and Irish Steam Packet Company. It consists of 16,443sq m of office area spread over eight levels, a roof garden, five terraces, 27 shower rooms, changing areas, a 16-space basement car park which includes two EV charging spots, and holds 234 bicycle spaces.

The structure has been engineered with sustainability in mind, with the aim to gain LEED Platinum certification and NZEB status. The building has also achieved WiredScore Platinum, a Ber rating of A3, and surpasses EU taxonomy regulations. It offers open-floor layouts, access to landscaped terraces, and employee facilities. The building is conveniently located at the junction of Sir John Rogerson’s Quay and Lime Street, offering views over the River Liffey and is in the heart of Dublin’s Silicon Docks district.
