It almost goes without saying that the new BMW R 1200 GS is the most sought-after new model of the BMW stall at the 2012 EICMA exhibition in Milan, Italy.
The renewed version of this extremely popular model was officially unveiled at the begining of October during the 2012 Intermot show in Cologne, Germany, but this was the first chanche for the Italian crowd to take a look at it ‘in the metal‘, and it doesn’t take a crystall ball to predict that the new version (now with liquid-cooled engine) will be aother huge success for the Bavarian manufacturer.
.
The German engineers have focused on a new interpretation of the traditional flat-twin engine, whose displacement remains 1170 cc but is now more powerful, delivering 125 hp (92 kW) at 7700 rpm and 125 Nm of torque at 6500 rpm, (meaning 15 hp more than the previous generation).
Then we got a new frame, a twin-spar steel pipes, updated Telelever front and Paralever EVO rear suspension and radial-mounted Brembo monobloc calipers with 305mm discs at the front and a 276 mm disc at the back.
BMW offers the new R 1200 GS 2013 in four different colors: Alpinewhite, Racing Red, Blue Fire and Thundergrey metallic.
However, our exclusive live photo gallery of the BMW stand features all of the new bikes that will enlarge the 2013 BMW range, including R 1200 GS Adventure “90 Jahre BMW Motorrad”, R 1200 R “90 Jahre BMW Motorrad”, R 1200 RT “90 Jahre BMW Motorrad” and the new F 800 GT 2013.
