The multinational finance corporation, BlackRock, originally based in the US, is on the verge of securing a contract for office premises at Glencar House in Ballsbridge, which is set to become its new Dublin-based hub.
Glencar House, situated across the road from the RDS on Merrion Road in Dublin 4, is representative of the rising trend of green office structures that are in high demand by corporations aiming to reach their Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) objectives. This property, offering 6,968 square metres or 75,000 square feet of first class office space, is constructed with an emphasis on sustainability.
This property is the result of a collaboration between Killeen Properties, Walls Construction, Mitchell McDermott, Reddy Architecture + Urbanism, and O’Connor Sutton Cronin Engineers, with the purpose to achieve LEED Platinum, WELL Platinum, and Wired Score Platinum certifications. The building also aims for an A3 Ber rating and compliance with NZEB (nearly zero energy building) standards.
The office space offers raised floors for convenient access, suspended metal tile ceilings with built-in LED lights, and a four-pipe fan coil air conditioning system, all to cat-A specifications. The building also provides electric charging enabled parking for 41 vehicles and secure parking for 128 bicycles.
In addition to the offices, there is a feature wall made of Connemara marble in the triple-height reception area, which also boasts a polished concrete floor. The building also has an outdoor seating space at the front and a sizeable south-facing balcony, landscaped and extending to 325 square metres or 3,500 square feet, on its fourth floor. A fitness studio on the lower-ground floor adds to the amenities on offer at the Glencar House.
