“Bellingham Under Investigation for Slovakia Gesture”

An investigation has been launched by Uefa into alleged actions after scoring an equalising goal made by Jude Bellingham, the English midfielder. The footballer, who plays for Real Madrid, was noticed gesturing in the direction of the Slovakian substitutes following the tying goal from his bicycle kick in the concluding moments of added time when playing in Gelsenkirchen.

Uefa made an announcement on Monday, stating that their ethics and disciplinary inspector will handle a probe related to a probable breach of proper conduct by Jude Bellingham, a player from the Football Association of England. The purported violation is believed to have occurred during the match. Further details regarding the investigation will be shared in due time.

In the aftermath of the match, Bellingham shared on social media that his gesture was merely an inside joke directed at close friends in attendance at the game. He expressed nothing but admiration for the Slovakian team’s performance that evening.

The Football Association is also facing charges for disorder and lack of discipline among the fans, including incidents of them setting off fireworks.

Mirlind Daku, a player from Albania, was suspended for two matches earlier in the competition after being convicted of infringing Uefa’s disciplinary rules four times. His offense was using a loudspeaker to lead nationalistic chants among his country’s supporters.

Should Bellingham be found guilty, it’s yet to be confirmed if he will face suspension. If banned for the quarter-finals against Switzerland, this would necessitate a rearrangement in the midfield for Gareth Southgate.

Bellingham’s score sent the match to extra-time, culminating in a victory for England when Harry Kane netted the decisive goal in the extension, securing a come-from-behind win.
