“Belfast House Attack: Racial Hate Crime”

There has been a reported hate crime incident related to racism, which occurred recently on a property in southern Belfast. This involved an attack where several windows were demolished by bricks thrown at a dwelling in the Donegall Pass locale on the previous Wednesday evening.

The home’s resident was not physically harmed, though they were noticeably disturbed by the attack. According to a female spokesperson for the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI), the incident was brought to the attention of patrolling officers around 9.55pm by a concerned individual reporting the assault.

The PSNI is now handling this case as a hate crime rooted in racial bias. The female spokesperson further noted that while the inhabitant fortunately remained unharmed, they were deeply unsettled by the incident. She emphasised that such conduct is intolerable and the current situation is being considered as a hate offence driven by racism.

She also added that investigations are under progress, asking any witnesses, or anyone in possession of CCTV or any other form of evidence such as video recordings that can aid in identifying the guilty parties, to get in touch with the police. She advised them to use the contact number 101 and quote the reference 1636 of 14/08/24.
