Belen Rodriguez removed from Italian advertising campaign?

It will be a difficult move for the Italian show girl from Argentinian origin, if Belen Rodriguez were to be sacked from her brand endorsement role at TIM: Telecom Italia.
We’ve already looked at how to do advertising in Italy, with Belen strutting around a pool in a white bikini not saying much for Telecom Italia’s products or services.

But we thought they were on to something given the national obsession with scantily clad women on Italian television.
As it turns out though, the advertising series featuring Belen and Italian comic actor Christian De Sica hasn’t done much for TIM, with reports saying that they’re actually losing money because of it.
The campaign is not to the taste of many customers, displeased with the provocative presence of Belen, and so TIM is moving to change it.
Brand endorsement from show girls in Italy is a huge slice of the marketing style, but apparently this time Telecom Italia is relying on the services of a couple of big Italian advertising agencies to come up with something new.

It seems Belen Rodriguez might get to keep her spot as brand ambassador, but that she might appear more dressed and demure.
It will be difficult for the Italian public to get used to seeing her more covered up, but then it might actually boost her image a little.
After all, she’s probably only following a script that was given to her (walk around pool, stare seductively at camera, immerse yourself in water….
).
After the jump is one of the offending videos.
