There’s this small B&B in Porto San Giorgio called Marchelife that seems to have come out of one of those old postcards that people used to send home to friends and relatives.
An old house perched on a green hill and looking out towards the coast.
A small heaven on earth surrounded by green meadows and tall trees swaying in the light breeze.
A place in which to relax and enjoy healthy food.
A magical atmosphere that takes one back to a distant era when people lived more simply and ate hand-made pasta, jams made from the orchard fruits, and pickles; all prepared by women in starched aprons at the end of Summer.
The owners must have loved poetry too.
In fact each room bears the title of one of Leopardi’s most loved poems.
Beautiful rooms painted in red, blue or light green and evocative of the magical poetry of that great Italian poet.
