“Baldoyle Hit-Run Victim’s Funeral Announced”

The funeral arrangements for Michael (Mikey) Farrelly, a man in his early forties who tragically lost his life in a hit-and-run incident on the Coast Road at Baldoyle, Co Dublin, have been disclosed. Mr. Farrelly had been returning home solo around 1am from a family gathering when he was struck and killed by a stolen vehicle. The assailant or assailants fled the scene, leaving the stolen car behind.

Gardaí are pursuing the theory that the offender was a young individual previously linked with car theft, familiar to their unit. Leading up to the incident, there were interactions between the Gardaí and those in the stolen vehicle, but the driver disregarded the order to halt.

Mr. Farrelly, the offspring of Philip and the late Sylvia Farrelly of Sutton, leaves behind siblings Conor, Lucia, Philip, Noirín, and Tom. A period of mourning will be held on Tuesday evening in the familial home in Sutton. Funeral services will be held midday Wednesday at St Ciarán’s Church, Meenlagh, Carnacross, Co Meath.
