Audi SC-1 Superscooter Concept

Right after the definitive acquisition of Ducati by Audi, the German carmaker revealed it was considering the development of an all-new motorcycle with the 4 rings logo and some technical input coming from the recently acquired Italian brand.
Apparently, the model is bound to be either or small motorcycle or a scooter for urban mobility, and so it would just not fit in Ducati ultra-sporty line up.

To tell the truth, even Ducati itself had been toying with the idea of building its own scooter in the past, but the idea has always been post-poned and never materialized.
Putting two and two together, that project might now gain strength again, with the only difference being a different last name.
Back then Italian designer Oberdan Bezzi had come up with his own rendition of an hypothetical Ducati Desmoscooter, but now he has converted that into something that could actually become real pretty soon, an Audi branded maxi-scooter.
According to Bezzi, the technical feature of this concept would be the following: 700 cc twin-cylinder engine with an output in the 90 hp area, light alloy frame and 16″ wheels.

This scooter would go on to become a direct competitor to the BMW C600 Sport, the Yamaha TMAX 530 and even the impressive Aprilia SRV850.
The model would boast top-notch equipment and aims to become just another status-symbol ‘Made in Germany’, in spite of the expected high price.
However, as you might now, Audi and Ducati customers usually do not pay too much attention to these silly details.
