At the 2024 WWDC, Apple is set to progress significantly in the field of Artificial Intelligence

The Worldwide Developers’ Conference – or WWDC – is renowned for being Apple and its developers’ prime yearly event, which starts next week. This event is typically when Apple reveals the latest software set to be rolled out on its iPads, iPhones, and Macs, making it a highlight in the Apple schedule.

Given the increasing concentration of numerous technology behemoths on artificial intelligence (AI), it’s anticipated that Apple will launch new features and tools for its platforms this year aimed at delivering more advanced AI possibilities to customers.

CCS Insight’s Ben Wood believes that many of the improvements highlighted at the WWDC will be already seen features, such as enhancements in photo editing, transcription and translation tools, deeper AI integration into auto-responders for texts and chats, and modifications to a series of apps like Apple Music, Fitness and Health for greater personalisation. These improvements seemingly echo those seen from other smartphone manufacturers, yet Apple’s ability to weave a narrative could give consumers the perception that these ‘new’ abilities are Apple’s creation, instead of just catching up with brands like Samsung.

Apple’s delivery of these services might also reflect a divergence. Apple is anticipated to underscore privacy and security in contrast to its competitors who largely depend on cloud-based tools. But no matter what, it’s paramount for Apple to make a declaration on AI and its prospects at the WWDC.

Woods stated that with AI beginning to dominate the tech industry, Apple is thought to be at a disadvantage for the first time in a while. He added, however, that Apple is not one to lag and is looked upon to stand up and display how it can employ AI to drive considerable betterments to its apps and services.
