“Arcade Fire at Malahide: Key Details”

Hailing from Montreal, Canada, Arcade Fire emerged in the early 2000s and are now revisiting their debut album, Funeral, from 2004 on tour. This tour offers the rare occasion for fans to experience the entire Funeral album live, in addition to a variety of songs from their extensive repertoire. Their subsequent albums have been notably successful, with nine Grammy nominations, three number one albums globally, four Juno awards, a Brit award for best international album, and an Oscar nomination for their soundtrack to the film HER. Their most recent album, We, was launched in 2022.

Any suggestions on travelling there and back?
Hogan’s Gate, the entry point to the concert, is around a 15-minute walk from the Malahide Dart station. Owing to probable congestion and limited parking space, it’s advised to take public transport. It’s also prudent to arrange your return journey ahead of time – getting back to the city centre is an extensive trek.
Train, Dart or bus: The Dart train offers services to and from Malahide Dart station. After the gig, departure buses to Custom House Quay, Dublin 1, will be available from Dublin Road as both one-way or return trips. You can pre-order and find additional information at marathoncoaches.ie.
Concert Express is also providing a one-way bus service to the city centre after the show. There will also be a returning service to Ratoath that also serves Ashbourne and Swords. You can pre-book and get more details at ConcertExpress.ie.

If you’re travelling by car, please keep in mind that parking spaces at Malahide Castle are quite limited. We strongly recommend all concert attendees to secure their parking spaces through the Evntz app as early as possible to avoid any surprises. Please refrain from parking illegally in the areas and local estates around the castle, as it can lead to your vehicle being clamped or towed.

For those coming from the South: Use the M50 motorway and take the exit at the third junction, signposted for M1 Belfast/Airport. Continue onto the R139 and at the roundabout, take the second exit, proceeding on the R139 for about 2.6km. Then, turn left onto the Malahide Road/R107. Maintain on this for about 4.2km before turning right onto Back Road. The car parks, signposted, will be on your left side.

From the North: Use the M1 motorway and exit at junction 4, which is signposted for R132 Swords/Malahide/Donabate. Keep towards the right, merging onto the R132. At two subsequent roundabouts, take the second exit, continuing on the R132. Then, slighlty turn left onto the Swords Road/R106 and carry on for 2.9km. Take a right turn onto Dublin Road/R107, proceed for about 700m, and finally turn left onto the Back Road. Stay alert for signposts for car parks on your left side.

Adults above 25 years are required to escort anyone under 16, and proof of date of birth – such as a passport, garda age card or driver’s license – should be brought along. Remember to plan for security checks upon entry. All bags bigger than A4 dimensions will be banned, and any bag brought might be subject to search which could delay entry; thus, you might want to forego bringing a bag for simplified admission. No storage or cloakroom will be available. Amongst other items, glasses, cans, flares, selfie sticks, umbrellas, alcohol, and garden furniture will not be permitted into the event. An unequivocal no-alcohol rule will be enforced on all modes of transportation, including private buses, to the location. Remember that the event may include use of strobe lights, lasers and pyrotechnics. Photography is permitted but only with smartphones or compact cameras; professional cameras with removable lenses or any sort of recording equipment are prohibited. The weather for Sunday is projected to fluctuate between brief periods of sunshine and intermittent rainfall with highs ranging from 13 to 17 degrees. Given that the event is open-air, be sure to dress suitably and prepare for variant weather conditions—just don’t forget, umbrellas are not allowed.
